Old Frame

Bored, so: another old photo. Not perfectly in focus, but still nice.

Swat!

I had some spare time and was sorting through some old stuff.

(Another) Amazing Post-Season Game

Oregon State just beat Stanford by three points in overtime. I pulled some nice images from it, I think I’m getting better. Publication has priority again, so here’s an offbeat frame. (I’m planning a Craig Robinson photo essay of sorts. This photo probably gets in. He has been my focus for the few games I’ve been to. I intend to ride on the coattails of success—if you know what I mean.)

CBI, Round 2

I am the only Daily Barometer photographer in town, so I pretty much shoot everything (everybody else is on Spring break.) My schedule is pretty crammed: tomorrow I shoot women’s crew, and I have softball, basketball, and baseball later in the week. I just shot Oregon State’s second round in the College Basketball Invitational. OSU beat Vermont 71-70 in overtime. It was pretty fantastic, one of the best games I’ve been to. OSU moves on to play Stanford on Wednesday at 7pm.

Casey Grogan, Sports Editor at the Barometer, and I are planning a web slideshow of some of the events we’ve covered over the break. I’ll post a link to it when we finally get it up. We have a few thousand images to sort through and he has a couple of stories to write. I can’t really post my best stuff yet, the slideshow has first pick. Until then, here are some offbeat images from tonight that wouldn’t otherwise see publication.

Big Day

I took 2213 photos today: welcome to photojournalism. The day has been frustrating, taxing, and exciting. I think I have some new portfolio material (and a lot of shitty or out of focus frames.) More to come, please comment.

Finally...

I’m on Spring Break! Hooray!

Apologies for being so inconsistent with the blog thing. I have plenty to shoot over the next week or so: baseball, basketball, softball, track, and rowing. I’ll throw some stuff up as it happens. I also hope to piece together a portfolio from all the new stuff I've shot over the past two terms.

Here’s a mediocre frame from the second OSU-Utah Valley game I just shot. Enjoy!
OSU pitcher Ryan Gorton had a pretty good game. Photographer Cory Reed, however, failed to get any good batting photos with the ball.

Rain!

I helped a friend on a shoot for his final project. He originally planned to shoot outdoors, but the weather was less than accommodating. The rain and wind chill was so bad that we had to change locations for the shoot.

Untitled

This is the last photo I took of my brother. He left for boot camp on Sunday, a few hours after I took this.
